Warning! Fake Tax Experts Ahead!

Warning! Fake Tax 'experts' Ahead

By David Roberts

Introduction

My name is David Roberts, I have a Masters in Accounting and Business. I am a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor and a Certified Expert profit and growth. I have ten years plus Tax preparation experience with four different types of software. I have trained people for the last three years in preparing taxes for companies such as Jackson Hewitt, Liberty Tax Service and Intuit (makers of Turbo Tax Online Help). I'm hesitant to tout myself as a tax expert because the laws change every year, forms, add Forms are removed and tax tables change often during the season you have the tax-are in. I am more than competent and confident in completing a tax return, what exists, but I prefer myself as a professional tax do not think working as a tax expert. Then said this but I have to warn you that there is a "multi-level marketing" group, advertises itself as a tax reduction (or reduction) of experts and planners, when the truth is that they would not be able to tell you the difference between a 1040 and a hole in the ground, or between a W-2 and a W-4.

Where do they come

Perhaps a little background is necessary here. Before I began my Masters Degree program and before I have a clear direction in my life I was, like so many before me sucked, an MLM group, had specialized in the sale of legal services as an insurance pre paid type of service. It's not really a bad idea, it could be more profitable and practical, if they ever had in a law firm had decided that was ready to actually meet the requirements of their pamphlets. In reality, only about 2% of sales for this group ever actually enough to make to pursue their sales full time. One of the "benefits", a part of this "business" is that we actually all involved the deduction of losses of this "activity" and if you in this business, trust me, "It will be the losses."

After about two years, urging everyone I knew away from me trying to sell this "plan", I realized that it was all just a sugar-coated BS Pill. The Dreams of being rich or the frosting, all the rest is B S. Finally, everyone smells the BS and so eventually you will taste B S. So I got out and got smart and I started training for a real career.

Okay, now you know the background. Recently, the same group with Pre Paid Legal insurance have started touting this "new" thing. You take the great advantage that this business (net of losses) and turn it in his own MLM.

The best way to go to sale, a weekend seminar or read a book and start telling everyone that they "Tax Reduction Specialists. It's a bit like coming home to teach your children Gartner "" You math, it can be cute but not in this case. The focus is to deduct your vacation, You hire your children and trigger their pay, with your vehicle for your new-found "Business" and deducting mileage and with a room in your house as your "office" and after deduction of rent, mortgage, utilities, etc.

Reality Check

If it was, in fact, legal, deduct your vacation, everyone would do it. What they do not say is that, yes, you can deduct these costs on some, but the IRS in an audit requires proof that it was a business trip, and not just a trip to the islands for a little fun. If you do ten minutes on a week's holiday satisfied this is no business. They will ask for receipts know, like, what industry you work out who you met and why, and in cases in which this kind fraud is suspected, they will be reviewing this information.

You can hire your children and the deduction of wages? YES! But then have your children the tax, since they have prepared for Social Security, Medicare and other taxes owed as a self-employed independent contractors. Then you can them them to the IRS auditor that your have to convince 12-year-old, is an independent contractor and not an employee. (Good luck with that one.) If you rent they are responsible as an employee, then you are in favor of the federal and state unemployment file Workers Compensation, and pay half the payroll tax from your newly found business. If you do not, then you can hire your children and not deduct the cost!

You need to demonstrate a mileage log in text form, that your business and the business use of vehicles is connected and not just a trip to the local grocery store. If you have only one vehicle, it is an accurate Examination of your mileage account will be logged when you claim 90% business use.

Then we get to the Home Office. It is a test IRS auditors are used to determine if the office is admissible at home as a deduction. This test involves the use of two words, "regularly" and "Only". Let us first, "regular" means that you keep regular office hours? If only the Space efficient as an office, the deduction is not allowed. This is simple enough, right? What is "exclusive"?

An IRS auditor is in one of these rooms (offices) and looks around. Hey, you have a computer, do the kids always play or check e-mails on this computer? Yes? The deduction is not allowed. Hey, there's a television in the rooms need to watch TV? Yes? The deduction is not allowed. What about this Murphy bed? I only used one weekend per year when Aunt Sally visited? The deduction is not allowed. If you think I exaggerate, call the IRS and ask them their definition of "exclusively".

Why use are they?

This is a very sneaky way to use them, you can order in the MLM way of life Snare. Let me Assure you that 95% of these people struggling to meet ends and been a part of it I've seen the wrong information at work to try to convince you, that they are better than they actually do. So why should this "tax-reduction support" regime?

Because it is so good to can all those costs that you normally pay to be deducted, so you more of what you can to keep noise, you can search for ways to Your own business so that you can even do this. What? You do not own your own business? Here's one for you, sell a Pre Paid Legal Insurance! And you have put in their all-encompassing scheme to log more suckers to sell this hyped service that is not better than the soap from Amway or Shaklee vitamins from is. That's it! They promote themselves as experts in the field of taxation, so that they get more recruits into their organization. These systems come and go even further than a period of decades and more often than not end up breaking the banks of those whose eyes are always bigger than their wallets when the Start dream big ".

You can say a lot of these reps are fake "if you look at their websites and that they not MLM that she frowned. They sell all of them, because they can not make it big in one of them. (Travel MLM, MLM health and more) to the vehicles, the following have to look at its rear window:

"If you do not have $ 800 per week call me!" Ever wonder why you never see this on a Audi, Mercedes or even a Honda? They are painting their Pintos, Ford Broncos and SUV's with this claim, when in fact if they made that much would be they do not drive such a crap car in the first place. (Did you sense a little sarcasm here?)

Completion

Warning! These people are fakes, frauds and liars, is not following its lead, ranging obtained independently wealthy or a better life, is it you get put in jail or in debt to the IRS. Remember the old axiom, "if it sounds too good to be true, it is." If you do not believe me, feel free to contact the IRS Criminal Investigation Division and ask them about this group. When they come calling on you, shut the door, hang up the handset and then delete the e-mails spammy. You'll thank me later.
